Here we present the videos where we show our results and research activities. Please visit also our YouTube channel, where we also show some outreach activities and recorded presentations.

Preliminary results on crop diversification in rainfed almond systems

Here we show the preliminary results after three years of experimentation, it is a first evaluation on the impact of crop diversification of this farm, with extreme and fragile environmental conditions, on ecosystem services and economic viability.

The impact of global change on ecosystem services in the Mediterranean

This is the video abstract of a study on the impact of historical climate change, land use change and reservoir construction on ecosystem services in a typical Mediterranean catchment in SE Spain. In the video we talk about global change, which here refers to the combination of climate and land use change. The video abstract belongs to the article “The impact of reservoir construction and changes in land use and climate on ecosystem services in a large Mediterranean catchment” published in Journal of Hydrology.

Digital Summit: Large scale restoration of agro-ecosystems

Digital summit of the Global Landscape Forum on how putting together farmers’ experiences and scientific knowledge through participatory monitoring can help to find the most feasible solutions to develop resilient agroecosystems.

Digital summit: From river to coast – Collaboration to restore coastal and rural areas

Digital summit of the Global Landscape Forum on how participatory approaches to map and model system dynamics can help to create mutual understanding of appropriate collective action for ecosystem restoration initiatives.

Burete Field Site – Long-term Rained Almond Experiment

In this study site we evaluate the potential of sustainable management to increase the sustainability of agroecosystems. Several management practices, alternative to the one that are used by the farmers in the area (reduced tillage) are being monitored during the last 10 years.

SPHY-MMF – Coupled Hydrology-Soil Erosion Model

This is a video abstract of the SPHY-MMF coupled hydrology-soil erosion model. The video describes the most relevant processes handled by the model, such as the hydrological processes, soil erosion and sediment transport. The video abstract belongs to the open-access article “Assessing the large-scale impacts of environmental change using a coupled hydrology and soil erosion model” published in Earth Surface Dynamics.

Sorbas Field Site – Climate Change Experiment

In this field study we are evaluating the effects of climate change on a semi-arid shrubland community. This study will help us develop effective strategies for the conservation of semi-arid shrubland communities.

Finca Los Escuderos – Rainfed Almond Study Site

This video presents case study 1 of the Diverfarming project. In this case study we transformed a rainfed agrosystem with traditional almond tree monoculture into a diversified system, in order to increase ecosystem and economic benefits.

Fieldwork in the Turrilla Catchment

This video shows one of the regular field visits to the Turrilla catchment (SE Spain) to sample water and sediment and read data from data loggers.
